Ingredients

  • winter squash
  • butter
  • salt
  • pepper
  • small quantity sugar

Method

  1. Cut in pieces, remove seeds and stringy portion, and pare.
  2. Place in a strainer and cook thirty minutes, or until soft, over boiling water.
  3. Mash, and season with butter, salt, and pepper.
  4. If lacking in sweetness, add a small quantity of sugar.
