Ingredients

  • prunes
  • cold water
  • sugar or molasses
  • small quantity lemon juice

Method

  1. Wash and pick over prunes.
  2. Put in a saucepan, cover with cold water, and soak two hours; then cook until soft in same water.
  3. When nearly cooked, add sugar or molasses to sweeten.
  4. Many prefer the addition of a small quantity of lemon juice.
