Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup raisins seeded and cut in pieces
  • ½ cup currants
  • ½ cup citron thinly sliced and cut in strips
  • ½ cup molasses
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon allspice
  • ¼ teaspoon mace
  • ¼ teaspoon clove
  • ⅛ teaspoon lemon extract

Method

  1. Follow directions for mixing butter cake mixtures.
  2. Bake in deep cake pans one and one-quarter hours.
