Aunt Caddie's Cake.
Ingredients
- ¾ cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup molasses
- 1 cup sour milk
- 1½ teaspoons soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon clove
- 3 cups flour
- ¾ cup raisins seeded and cut in pieces
Method
- Cream the butter, add sugar gradually, molasses, sour milk, and raisins.
- Mix and sift remaining ingredients, and combine mixtures.
- Bake fifty minutes in a deep pan.
